Farm Tours
Bees were one of the first animals that humans domesticated and started farming. Nowadays, one third of the food on your table comes there because of bees. Bees play an enormous part in peoples lives even if they don't eat honey. Beekeeping is part art and part science and takes a long time to master. Only after you've opened thousands of hives do you really know what's going on inside. We know about bees and can show you all the interesting things that go on in a beehive without getting stung!

Tours start at the Observation Hive, a wall of over 50,000 bees. Don't worry! These bees are behind glass and can't sting you. You can watch the fascinating ways the bees dance to communicate to other bees where to find the best honey. You can also try to find the single queen bee among all the workers bees. If you are lucky you can see her laying eggs in the honeycomb while her attendants surround her. During the Spring and Summer you can also see drones, hanging about doing nothing, as usual.
