A number of studies and clinical trials have shown that honey is effective in reducing healing times in wounds and burns. The results of several of these studies have now been analyzed together to get a better overall picture of the usefulness of honey in healing burns and wounds. Andrew Jull and his team at the Clinical Trials Research Unit, University of Auckland, New Zealand, say that the studies show that topical application of honey could be more effective than conventional gauze dressings on moderate burns.
