The Flower Garden
Bees Love Some Flowers and Birds Love Others

Different flowers are adapted to being pollinated by different animals. Some flowers have evolved to be insect pollinated while others need hummingbirds or other larger animals to transfer the pollen. Honey starts off as nectar in flowers. Plants create fantastically beautiful flowers and sweet nectar to entice bees to the plant. The bees drink the nectar and collect pollen from the flower. As bees move from flower to flower, some of the collected pollen is transferred to the flower of another plant, and the plant is then able to reproduce. Bees work as the plants' couriers and in return they get energy packed nectar, and nutrient and protein rich pollen.
